Claire and Jamie are able to be honest with each other about the personal struggles they have been facing and are FINALLY able to reestablish their physical connection. Always Another F***ing War

In this episode of The Sassenach Files, I’m taking a look at  201: “Through A Glass Darkly”. Claire has returned to the 20th century, and no one has any idea what the hell is going on. Deep in her grief, she is struggling to acclimate back to 20th century life, and while Frank is elated his wife has reappeared, the revelation she is pregnant makes it pretty hard to ignore the tall, red-headed elephant in the room. And just when we are getting our bearings, we are thrown back to the 18th century to pick up right where season one left off. Will the physical and emotional whiplash ever end? The numbers are still coming in, but it’s not looking likely…

Too Much and Not Enough

It’s time for another episode of The Sassenach Files, and this week I’m talking the season one finale, “To Ransom A Man’s Soul”. Jamie has to decide what is worth fighting for in this one, and Claire is determined to not let him give up. This episode was a controversial one for a lot of viewers, and I dive into my personal feelings on it’s graphic nature, how I felt the actors portrayed their characters, and what the toughest part of the episode was for me.

Such An Ignoble Ending

Hello again! This time on The Sassenach Files, I'm discussing 115 of Outlander: "Wentworth Prison". Our two main characters go through an emotional hurricane this week, and their lives are left in tatters. Jamie is forced to make a heart wrenching sacrifice to save Claire after a botched rescue attempt, and we are left to wonder if any good can come out of this season with only one episode left. Love Forces A Person To Choose

This week I’m analyzing 114 of Outlander “The Search”. This episode is all about Claire’s growing relationships with two strong characters: Jenny and Murtagh. On their search for Jamie, we learn a little bit about what makes these characters tick We also have a run in with the character you all know I love to hate -- Dougal. Enjoy!

If Ever A Man Needed Killing...

In this episode I analyze episode 113 of Outlander “The Watch”. Jamie has taken a rather difficult path to get where he is, and it’s made even more difficult when Horrocks shows up demanding money in exchange for silence. Jenny’s impending delivery, Claire’s admission of potential infertility, and the presence of Taran MacQuarrie and company only serve to ratchet up the tension that was already on high.

The One Where Jamie Returns to Lallybroch

A return to The Sassenach Files equals a return to Lallybroch for an analysis on 112 of Outlander. This episode is all about the divide that has occurred between Jamie and his family in his absence. The Fraser siblings are dealing with a lot of heart stuff including guilt over their father’s death, uncertainty surrounding the Black Jack Randall situation, and the lack of communication in the four years since Jamie’s departure. In-law bonding is also in the cards with a little Ian and Claire alliance.

The One Where All The Cards Are On The Table

Greetings Sassenach Files universe!! This week we are discussing 111, “The Devil’s Mark”. Claire had a decision to make, and for the first time didn’t have anything or anyone forcing her hand.
